52. A resposta correta é: "the children were sleeping."

A questão 52 não seria: 52. (sleep) When I got home, the children had already slept ?
As duas ações aconteceram no passado (chegar em casa e as crianças dormirem), porém elas dormiram antes de a pessoa chegar em casa, por isso teria a presença de um past perfect, não ?
Olá Ricardo. A opção por 'were sleeping' se deve ao fato de que ao chegar em casa as crianças estavam dormindo. Esse exercício abrange temas de nível básico como presente, passado e futuro (todos na modalidade simples). De qualquer forma, em inglês não é comum usarmos o verbo sleep como o fazemos no português. Logo, analisando a sua sugestão, diríamos em inglês When I got home, the children had already gone to bed ou When I got home, the children had already fallen asleep . Boa tarde, a questão 6 está em que tempo verbal?
a questao 47 esta correta? porque na questão ele fala "during the examination, he was..." nao seria uma ação que estava acontecendo no passado, por isso deveria ser usado o past continuos?
Simple Present. A tradução ficaria: "Eu *como* (eat) comida italiana só de vez em quando."
